Swim and Dive Practice
Practices are not mandatory, however we strongly encourage you to attend as many practices as you can. Practice is a great opportunity for your swimmers to learn new techniques, become for familiar with coaches and other team members, and build confidence in their swimming. Attending practice also allows our coaching staff to assess your swimmers to determine with what aspect of swimming they might need extra focus.
Hunting Creek practices are divided by age groups.
- 8 & Under will attend swim and dive practice together
- 9 & Older will attend swim and dive practice together
We have a few special practices during the season.
- Donut Day Saturdays: Every Saturday we ask for parent volunteers to buy and pass out donuts after our Saturday morning practices. The kids love it and are always excited about coming to Saturday morning practices know they will have a fun treat afterwards.
- Time Trial Wednesdays: We will hold at least 2-3 Time Trial Wednesday practices throughout the season. Each swimmer will swim the length of the pool as fast as they can in the strokes that their age group can swim. Please try to attend these practices if it is at all possible.

Want a little extra help on a certain stroke, on turns, or dives? Try a lesson!
All of our swim and dive coaches are available and willing to give extra swim and dive lessons outside of our normal practice times. Each lesson is 30 minutes and will take place at the Hunting Creek pool. Cost for each lesson is $20.
If you are interested in getting a lesson for your swimmer, please contact your favorite coach. Refer to the Coaches page for their contact information. You and the coach will determine the best time that works for all of you. Just one lesson can make a huge difference in your swimmer's summer season!
